    How journals like IEEE Transactions, ACM, Elsevier, and Springer differ from NeurIPS, ICML, or CVPR papers — and how to extend a conference paper into a journal version.

  2. 02

    Framing Your Contribution

    Problem statement, contribution bullets, and the story arc reviewers look for — and how to show novelty rather than an incremental tweak.

  3. 03

    Title, Abstract & Introduction

    A searchable title, a structured abstract, and an introduction that motivates the problem and lands your contributions in the first page.

  4. 04

    Related Work That Positions You

    Organising prior work by theme and positioning against the state of the art — not a list of paper summaries.

  5. 05

    Methods, Algorithms & Notation

    Describing models and architectures precisely: consistent notation, pseudocode, architecture diagrams, and complexity analysis.

  6. 06

    Experiments, Baselines & Ablations

    Datasets, metrics, and strong baselines; significance testing and ablation studies; reproducibility checklists and code/data availability.

  7. 07

    Figures, Tables & LaTeX

    Publication-quality plots, booktabs tables, journal templates (IEEEtran, elsarticle, acmart), and BibTeX hygiene.

    Discussion, Limitations & Conclusion

    Interpreting results honestly, threats to validity, and the ethics, broader-impact, and AI-use disclosure statements journals now expect.

    Choosing a Journal & Submitting

    Scope fit, impact factor, CiteScore, and quartiles; open access and APCs; spotting predatory journals; writing the cover letter and suggesting reviewers.

  10. 10

    Peer Review & Rebuttal

    Reading decision letters, handling major and minor revisions, writing a point-by-point response letter, and resubmitting after rejection.
